About Michelle:

Growing up I ONLY wanted ONE thing: to be skinny. I’m not joking. My desires have changed drastically over the past decade and my heart truly leaps with joy when I get to help women. Don’t get me wrong guys, I love training ya’ll as well, but empowering women is what I wake up to do each day. I strive to create an environment in my gym and on the blog where women can feel better about themselves as a whole unit. Scale weight, measurements and jean size doesn’t define the empowered woman. What lets me know clients are reaching goals is in the little details that create drastic changes: a client wearing capris when she ONLY wore long pants, a client no longer speaking to herself in a negative way, a client overjoyed that she can play with her kids. This is progress. This is life…..and I train for life.

Aside from training in person (at my studio and traveling) and online, I also spend a good amount of time traveling the globe teaching self-defense to victims of sex trafficking and human exploitation. I’m basically not your normal stay at home mom! My oldest has already been able to travel to Africa with me and my youngest accompanied me on an empowerment mission to Moldova.

My goal here is pretty simple: I want to inspire others to a full life that is well lived and enjoyed without all the confusion that is associated with the pursuit of health and fitness. I intend to empower others to make healthy choices based on the reality of busy schedules and more people to worry about than just ourselves. I typically post four to five times a week. My Biography

Honestly, I was not raised with health as the forefront of our choices. I’m a product of the 80′s (though I was born in ’78) and have rocked the hairstyles and poor nutrition proudly. I am the daughter of a chronic dieter who was the daughter of a chronic dieter and, well, we just kept that as a family tradition. I struggled with weight my entire childhood and young adult life and was put on my first deprivation diet at the age of 9. My metabolism shot, I embarked upon an adventure in eating disorders and exercise obsession by the time most girls were picking out the cutest boys in school. By the time I had my daughter, I was overweight, extremely depressed and completely unable to keep up with life in general. After years of failed fad diets, I cleaned up my act by applying knowledge. I became a trainer, a nutritionist and a certified health nut. My life is different from most, but I wouldn’t change it for the world!
