My name is Kayce, I am a 31 year old wife and mother of 2 young kids, 4 year-old boy and 5 month old baby girl. I have had weight issues all my life, and tried every fad diet and weight loss pill I could. I have never been the type of overweight person that just ate anything and everything I wanted, I was actually the opposite. I tried to make healthy choices, but I also let myself eat bad every now and again. I always struggled with working out, never found an exercise routine I could stick with. In August of 2008 I decided to have Lap Band surgery for weight loss. I never looked at it as a quick fix, I knew I had to change. I lost about 40 pounds on my own, but I got to a plateau and I knew I could do better. Then I had a friend that introduced to me to Michelle. I signed up for my first bootcamp in May of 2009 as a birthday present to myself. I remember the first night of that bootcamp and how hard it was. I also remember the words that I STILL tell myself when I workout…”Yes, it will hurt. But Yes, you will Live. Suck it up, and Suck it in”. At the end of the first bootcamp, I had lost 8 pounds and a total of 16 inches. I was hooked. I’ve done a total of 3 bootcamps, and all have been different. She always switched things up so you never did the same thing 2 nights in a row. We did circuit training, weights, yoga (not my fav), kickboxing and zumba (my favs!). After about a year of working out with Michelle, and then on my own (by that time I was addicted!), I had almost reached my goal. I was down about 80 pounds all together. I was finally happy with how I looked, and finally proud of myself for what I had been able to accomplish. After a wonderful vacation in May of 2010, I got sick and out of my workout routine and put about 20 pounds back on….and then got the exciting news that we were expecting again! After my daughter was born in August, I was ready to get back to it. I can’t wait to work with Michelle again, and I know she will always be there for me if I have any questions about fitness or nutrition.
What I love most about Michelle, is that she’s not just the typical Skinny-Minnie trainer that tells you what to do and what to work on. I signed up with a gym several years ago because they were offering free personal training sessions. During those sessions, I felt like the trainer could have cared less if I was there. They put me in front of a mirror and told me what to do, but I didn’t learn anything. It was nothing that I felt like I could actually do on my own. After those sessions, they told me how many more training sessions I would need to reach my goal and how much it was going to cost. I looked at them and told them I couldn’t afford it. They looked at me and flat out told me I would never reach my goal, and I left crying, believing them. Michelle is not that trainer. She has been where I have, she has struggled with the same things I have struggled with. She’s not the scream in your face trainer. She’s real and she honestly believes in you and wants you to succeed. With Michelle I have become addicted to working out, and the motivation I need to stay on track. I’m not back at my goal, I’ve got alot of work to do. But I know I’ve done it once so I can do it again.
My name is Carmen, I am a 45 year old mother of 3 and grandmother of 3, that’s what use to define me but I am not in any way the same person I was 2 years ago and its largely because I met Michelle. My first boot camp was in April of 2009 and I was petrified. I hadn’t really been active in a decade. I had quite smoking two years before and had decided to “get into shape” and I figured I had a leg up on the situation! So not the case, the first time I went to the ground to do push ups I uttered those horrible words “I Can’t”, words that are not in Michelle’s vocabulary. I remember from her strength, her belief in me, I went down to the ground and tackled those push ups with all that I had. They may have been on my knees but I did them and I haven’t stopped since. She believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself, what more can you ask for in a trainer! I think about what I eat, I know the importance of moving every day. I can do push ups on my toes, you name it, I can do it.
