My Skin Secret :)

OK, so I have had some serious skin secrets that I have tried to keep under wraps for YEARS!

It’s truth time now :)

Growing up my skin was what I would call “OK”. After I had my daughter I joined the ever growing club of adult acne sufferers. I mean, serious adult acne. I had to put makeup on to go anywhere and that act was then causing my pores to clog more (even though I was using all oil free stuff) and I was also developing wrinkles. It was like a 2 for 1 special! Compound that with all the sweaty workouts and I have a skin complex and self esteem issues.

Well, fast forward a few years and I found Derm Exclusive. I was severely resistant to it at first, but decided to give it a try about 6 weeks ago. My skin has changed drastically. I’m trying to find pictures that I actually allowed in my acne days so I can compare the 2. It really has been a life saver…or at least a skin saver. My acne has reduced to no new flare ups and the scars are almost all gone. The wrinkles on my forehead are no longer noticeable and even my smile lines are softening. I can now go out in just a little tinted moisturizer and don’t even need all the lotions and potions I piled on before.

So, does Derm Exclusive work? Yes it does! I can’t recall ever having such a great product on hand and I plan to keep it on my counters for good.

Have a healthy skin day! Michelle

Fun FRIDAY! The Beauty Blog

Did you know that you have access to some of the most potent beauty treatments in your own kitchen? Yes indeed! Some of the best beauty treatments are the cheapest and I have a few of my favorites for you :)

Anti-Acne Oatmeal Mask

1/2 cup whole grain oats (I run mine through a coffee grinder, but that isn’t necessary)

Juice from 1/4 lemon

4-5 drops tea tree oil (you can find this at Target in the meds section)

Enough plain yogurt to make a paste

Mix together and spread evenly on face. Let sit for 20 minutes and rinse with warm water. Follow with a dab of tea tree oil and moisturizer on affected areas, then moisturize entire face.

Super Moisture avocado Mask

1/2 avocado, mashed

1/2 banana mashed

2 tablespoons oats

Mix well and spread over entire face. Let sit for 20-30 minutes, rinse with tepid water and moisturize.

Mango Madness Facial Peel

Skin of one ripe mango.

Knead skin to get the juice to flow then sweep skin over entire face. Let sit for 10-20 minutes then rinse with cool water and moisturize.

These are 3 of the simplest and cheapest masks I use on a regular basis. You can also take an avocado, mashed and mixed with a banana, and rub it into hair concentrating on ends. Once you rinse, follow with a little hair oil or coconut oil to beat frizz and keep hair super smooth. Yogurt and lemon make a refreshing face mask when pressed for time and coconut oil is the queen of moisturizers and helps reduce acne flair ups.

So get creative in the kitchen and have a blast!
